Now for my Easter Card..........
As I said earlier we need brightening up and you cant get much brighter than this card,

Wow put your sun glasses on now!!!!

This card is bright in fact the camera didn't do it justice, and yes its yellow which isn't every ones cup of tea but I quite liked the colour
I started with my blank card, and used distress ink just around the edge the colour was mustard seed
I then found some orange card cut it down and placed that on top of my distressed yellow card.
added faux pearls and let them dry while I worked out what was next.
Ok now the yellow patterned card I made from scratch so in 1,2,3 steps this is what I did
I found a lovely background stamp with butterflies on with some script mixed into it now im not sure who or when I got this stamp but that was what I used.
  1. Stamped randomly over the white card  using background stamp and mustard seed distress ink leaving some white areas
  2.  Got a sentiment stamp and again using mustard seed ink randomly stamped in the gaps were I left white patches
  3.  Took blending tool again mustard seed ink and went round the edge of card.
  4.  Using heat gun dried all the ink over card (distress ink stays wet for while)
  5. Took paisley embossing folder and ran the card through the grand cailbur this was because I wanted texture as well as colour lol

you can just about see the the embossing and stamp I used here

That was it, not difficult but effective and you don't have to do it yellow you can use any colour and any stamps you have.

ok next i found my label die i love this shape and cut out two different sizes one in the orange as a matt and the second in a white card on the white card i left it in the die and went again with mustard seed around the edge i also stamped my sentiment in yellow, layered both up on my card and added faux pearls again.
now for the finishing touches a butterfly which i cut out embossed and left in the die so i could ink through then i went over my inked bits again still in die and used my perfect medium clear and went over all the inked bits
took out of the die added some clear embossing powder shook of excess and using my heat gun embossed the powder so i had a glossy finish to the butterfly . added pearls down its back and glued it to card.

Now the bow was made from lace I had in my ribbon stash made a bow placed some hat pins in to it and then added a pearl gem to it
that's it job done!
for anyone who cant see the sentiment it says " follow your dreams until they take wing and fly"
which I think is a lovely sentiment.

so lots going on today announcing the new blog candy games, and doing a card I have really spoilt you on this hopefully happy Easter Sunday,

So that's it folks till Monday's blog so I hope you all have a wonder Easter and don't indulge in to many chocolate eggs lol I think im going to join the kids now and have a bit of my walnut whip egg my husband has brought me yummy!!!!!

Very understated!!!!

I love this style of card and you can do it with any spellbinder shape-abilities you have.On this occasion I have opted for the butterfly from  les papillion set .

I love the simplicity of this card and it is so easy and quick to make. In fact I think I made four different coloured cards in this style the same day.my kids thought I had gone nuts cos usually I don't really make two cards the same. but I was on a roll this day....... and this one was the first and favourite so im showing it to  you.

blank card to start. followed by black matt card . I added a gold peel off border round the edge of the black card. I then measured my white card and decided were I would want the butterfly. I choose top right hand corner but you can do it anywhere.
I then just cut out the butterfly using my grand calibur. Ok so I am left with a white butterfly for another card so it wont go to waste but I wanted the negative image for this card.
i then went to my paper stash which we all have in the corner of the room and placed different coloured patterned card behind the image to see which piece I liked best, and I went for this brown and black patterned paper.I used foam pads to mount it on the piece of white card because I want my white card stock raised from the paper. I then mounted the white card on to my black matt card. next my sentiment I didn't want to add any more dimension to the card so I stamped my sentiment straight on to my white card. I would have usually added some swirl gems to the butterfly but I had ran out so in looking at all my dies I found really small flowers from  the layered scalloped posy set which are from heartfelt creations for spellbinders.
I cut and embossed 7 of those out and added a flower gem to each and glued them trailing from the butterfly down to my sentiment
I finished the whole card off by faux pearling the edge .

so what do you think no bows no frills just plain and simple.

I hope you like this one it is one of my favs this year and so easy to reproduce. with so many variations you can make these so quickly .

tell me what you think do you like or dislike?

make sure you pop back tomorrow for a card that will bring brightness to your dull days.....and find out what all the blog candy news is about.......

another card soon, so take care folks

back to basics

Good morning a nice simple card today going back to basics. this card is going back to dies we have forgot about of maybe just don't use as much.

I started with a blank card and I found a piece of paper from my stash that I adore I think its from a kanban paper pad , but don't hold me to that. its a lovely lilac and teal colour with roses, a maybe a bit dated for some but this card was for a grandma so it was perfect.

I went to my co-ordinations pads and found a nice lilac card stock to match, matted that on to my blank card. I then embossed my white card using the spellbinder m-bossibilities folder . I placed that card on to my lilac matt I then cut a piece of the roses paper and another lilac card which I ran through the folder too. I finished with a sentiment stamped on to the lacy ovals die and while the card was still in the die I used a bit of dusty concord distress ink around the edge.

I had some paper flowers in my stash I think they were from the glitter girls flower box last year add few of them on one corner . on to swirl that I had cut out .
finished of doing a understated bow, few gems and faux pearls
I hope you like this card!

I was planning on doing a few cards using my new spellbinder D-Lites dies but im still waiting for them. I was hoping they would arrive today but no sign yet......
as soon as they arrive I will let you know so you can look out for those cards.

Tomorrows card will be the most understated elegant card ever......... I love it and I could make this style card all day long.........do I give you sneak peek??????.................no!!!!!!! you will have to pop back tomorrow to see it

so for now my lovelies take care see you soon happy crafting......

Spellbinders D-lites gate and fence die

Ok todays card is using the d-lites gate and fence dies, and I think they are D-liteful to use.
Start with a blank card, cut out three pieces of different coloured card for my matt and layers started with a gold card then black and lastly what I called a muted gold card stock. I layered those up first them added my faux pearls around the edge of the black card stock.
Using my wax paper I cut my does out just one of each was needed. I cut them both out then removed my wax paper and placed my cut outs onto a cradt sheet, I did that so I didnt make a mess when using my perfect medium clear pad and rubbed over both cut images till they were covered. I then took my cosmic shimmer bronze embossing powder and sprinkled it all over both images till well covered, shook off all access and with my heat gun begain melting.
I took a label die, cut it out then while card was still in the die I took the perfect medium again and just went over the edges see picture, I was really happy with the overall effect I got with the embossing powder, metal looking gates and fence. I stuck the images onto the card and added a few flower gems here and there . And of course a bow.
I was happy with the card which could be used as any ocassion I used it as a thank you card this time
I love using the D-lite dies they have a lovely quaility about them, I hope you all agree,
Tell me what you think its always nice to get feedback
Anyway thats all for today so take care folks

Spellbinders D-Lites poppy die

Ok my stock is shipping its way to me as I type,so excited ive got some fab heartfelt creations products winging there way to me, some beautiful stamps and compatible dies, cant wait to use them myself to showcase them, and we have a range of ranger stuff too,  stuff that you will use everyday over and over......

Any way todays card is the positive image that I cut out of the d-lites spellbinder die, i used the negitive on one card now im using the postive, just to show you that you can use these dies over and over even using the scraps.
So started with my labels one dies and cut out a big white matt then a smaller black matt, I mounted them together and then placed them one side of my card, I had some pinflair sentiments that I need to use up so found a nice one and placed that on the right side of the card on my gold background.
I found in my scraps a die cut circle which just fits a peeloff on saying best wishes made a little glitter bow to sit just underneath. Then as before I had my poppies cut out in gold and glued them onto my black matt. Faux pearls round the edge
This was a really quick card to do and I think quite effective,
I could have embossed the poppies or coloured them but I liked them just as they are. What do you think?

I will show you a card again really quick and easy using the gates and fence, from the D-Lites , ive also embossed them to give a metal look so look out for that card soon,

Pop over to
www.taylormadecards.co.uk
to see when the craft suppiles are in,

I have a new set of D-Lites to play with tomorrow
So I will be showcasing a few of them soon
So for now happy crafting and see you soon

Poppy card using spellbinders D-Lites dies

Hello folks
All going ahead with my crafty suppliers first orders are now in so make sure you pop back to see when the stuff will be on site. i can now say we will be stocking items from heartfelt creations and ranger products to start with
All exciting stuff!!!
Anyway back to todays card poppies, this is using one of the d-lites dies from spellbinders, not seen much show cased on them because they are quite difficult to remove the cut card stock from them, but I have been using some wax paper with them and the card comes out a lot easier.
Ok started with my blank card rhythm used some black card as matt then I wanted two papers the same but tone differance so I went for a very red spotty paper on white then a white spot on red. I cut my die out and wanted to use the negitive part for this card I cut it out of a golf card stock then I used labels one to frame it
I placed my image on the brighter paper more red one as I had poppy image andu used the lighter one as a matt
Stamped sentiment matted that then finished card off with a big bright bow
With faux pearls around edge.
I liked how this card turned out hope you like it too. Let me know
I will show the next card using the poppy image that was cut out of the above card tomorrow.

So for now take care, hope your all safe and warm in this ghastly weather, we have been quite lucky here in the north highland area we have had flurries but nothing like most of you wrap up take care see you soon with another card

Been a while!!!

OK so I haven't been on for a while, well before Christmas with one thing and another I just haven't had 5 mins to do anything,
anyway im back how long for depends on when my op is, that's for the trapped nerve I have (yes 2 half years now) but the consultant has decided after numerous visits and scans the nerve needs a op as its badly damaged, so off to neurosurgeon on 8th April to see when they are taking me in, anyway enough of that we are here to see cards....new cards, ive made a few so over the next few weeks I will put them up. I wont say day by day as that never works as something always comes up so I will just leave it at that.....
im also in the throws of getting hold of stock to sell on my site im in chats with a few companies at the moment and all is looking good, you can properly guess what im going to stock but if not i will tell you,
hopefully it will be spellbinders, stamps, glues, gems, and heartfelt creations stock to, I will build up the supplies so eventually there will be a good few extra pages of craft supplies on site,
anyway back to todays card...
a simple card that screams elegance to me
what do you think?
i started with my blank card, then took a milk coloured piece of card and embossed it using the tied together embossing folder, i mounted that on my blank card i then took a piece of red core-dinations card stock and matted that onto my tied together piece,
i then took another milk card and embossed it with the hearts embossing folder
i rounded my edges of the heart card with my corner trimmer, i took the frame one from the d-lites range spellbinders have done and cut that out of milk card stock too
and in the same colour red i did the butterflies
added gems and bow and stamped a lovely sentiment and last but not least faux pearls around the edge
i do lve the look of the card certainly something i would be happy to receive
hope you agree,

hope you like the card, sorry last few pics had to be done by webcam as camera wasnt working you cant really see the colours and embossing but hope the first pic does it better justice

any take care
see you soon
